Apple Pie Interlude

Apple Pie Interlude

My mom has been visiting this week, and since it’s been nearly a year since I last saw her I haven’t had much time for blogging. But as you can imagine, many scrumptious things have been appearing in my kitchen while she’s here – including the luscious apple pie pictured here. On Saturday we went horseback riding, then stopped by the apple farm, and with nearly three bags of apples filled to the brim something had to be done. This recipe for Cinnamon Crumble Apple Pie was a good place to start, and we enjoyed our slices with vanilla ice cream, hot tea, good conversation, and once while watching a “chick flick” on TV. We also made apple turnovers, but I’m not posting a picture of those because I plan to share the recipe in the near future. Yum

Mom leaves tomorrow so I hope you’ll understand if, rather than spend more time in front of my computer, I share the rest of what we’ve been up to in image rather than word form. Click on the “read the rest of this entry” link to see some of our photos – heck, if a picture is worth 1,000 words, this is my longest post yet.

More recipes this weekend – until then!
