The Best Thing I Ever Baked – Baby News!
Life was a whirlwind of activity these past few weeks and blogging took a bit of a backseat while I prepared things at work for my maternity leave. People kept on telling me that first babies are “always late” and that I shouldn’t worry about having everything ready to go before our due date on the 27th, but I had a feeling our little man wasn’t going to wait that long to make an appearance… and I was right. As was my husband, who predicted our baby would be early less than a day before I went into labor.
On January 19th – a full nine days before his due date – our munchkin arrived after 36 hours of labor. Looking back on the experience I can’t believe we did it, and now I understand what other moms meant when they told me that – no matter how hard the labor ended up being – in the end it would all be worth it. They were right. I never knew it was possible to love another person this much. Our little guy weighed in at 7lbs 14oz and measured 20 inches long. He is now my official blogging buddy as he sleeps curled up on my chest while I write this post. 
Back to the regularly scheduled blogging program as soon as possible!

Congratulations to all three of you! And what a cute little guy! nice picture. The other thing they all say is that in a year you’ll have forgotten about the labor etc… Ours is 10 months old and I’m not sure I’ve forgotten yet.

Beautiful baby! Congratulations from one mama to another. I have two now, almost 5 and 2 1/2. It won’t seem like it with the early mornings or night time wakings, but that brand new baby phase will go by SO FAST! Enjoy it!

All 3 of my children are grown now, but after my first child was born I mentioned to my husband how nice it was that the hospital had music playing on the PA system as they wheeled us into the recovery room… he told me, uh, there was no music, but to this day I swear there were trumpets! That little one is getting married now and I can’t believe how fast the time has gone. Still, it’s going to be a tiring few months coming up…. followed by worrying for the rest of your life

Ari, your son is beautiful – congratulations to you and your husband and son – my two are 47 and 45 and I still remember the wonder of each and wonder where the time went – enjoy all the happy days that are coming your way.
Well,a Wonderful gift from the Lord,which says they are a blessing to the home!! I’m happy for the family!! I got ten grandkids,would be glad to take another little boy,only got three!! I really enjoy kids,cooking,fishing,woodworking,they all have fun,but not as much as Papaw!! Its,9:15 PM here,and I’m waitting on two granddaughters now.He,sure looks handsome!! I sure bet daddy is proud,and mama!!Gods,Blessing on you all!!!

Congratulations! Our first *was* late, coming on Jan 7, roughly a week after he due date (more or less, depending on which of several due dates one subscribes to!). Here’s wishing you lots of sleep, even if it doesn’t all come at night! We’ve had a few rough days in the last 3 weeks, but overall it hasn’t been too bad–for the longest time she was going on these crying jags (I mean our baby, but sometimes my wife joined her) for several hours between 1 and 5 in the morning. BUT we seem to have gotten that solved, so if you have any similar problems and need advice, we’ve got it.
Anyway, again, congratulations! Whatever else it is sometimes, it’s wonderful and amazing.
