Home Cooking: A Writer in the Kitchen

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

With recipe descriptions like “stir… until you feel either that your arm is going to fall off or that you are going to start screaming uncontrollably” it’s easy to love Colwin’s friendly, yet informative, voice. It took me only a couple of days to read this book during subway rides and on more than one occasion I couldn’t help but smile or chuckle. Some of the essays are more entertaining than others, and I must confess to skipping a few of them entirely, but for the most part “Home Cooking” was an enjoyable read.
