Monthly Book Giveaway

NOTE: Because I’ll be traveling the May giveaway deadline has been extended until June 8th. The June giveaway book will also be posted on that day.

Thanks to the generous folks over at Little, Brown May’s book giveaway includes 3 copies of “Mix Shake Stir: Recipes from Danny Meyer’s Acclaimed New York City Restaurants,” by Danny Meyer. Just in time for the summer months this book includes over 100 recipes for bar classics, signature favorites, and original, refreshing libations - from the Modern’s elegant mojito made with champagne and rose water to Tabla’s Pomegranate Gimlet.

What’s this Giveaway all About?
Every time I’ve given away books readers have loved it, so I thought: why not make giveaways a monthly event? So as of August 1, 2008 ‘Baking and Books’ will be giving away books or cookbooks every month. I hope you enjoy this new feature & feel free to send feedback my way.

How the Monthly Giveaways Work:

• 1. Each month I’ll select a book or cookbook to give away on this site. The book will be listed in the sidebar.
• 2. In order to enter to win, all you need to do is comment on the blog posts for that month. For instance, in order to win the giveaway book for August simply comment on the entries written during the month of August. Naturally, this means that you can enter every giveaway more than once.
• 3. At the end of the month I’ll randomly select a winner from all the comments that have been submitted on posts for that month.
• 4. That’s it! I will email the winners and post their names below.

I’m selective when it comes to the books I feature on this site, but am happy to discuss featuring your title in a giveaway, sharing a recipe, or conducting an author interview. FAQs

How do you choose the giveaway winners?
I enter the number of comments for the month into the random integer generator at random.org. Whatever number is generated is then matched to a specific comment.

I don’t understand. Where do I comment? I don’t see a comments section on this page.
Click on the “Home” link in the main menu above. Once you do that you’ll see the most recent post. In order to enter the giveaway you need to comment on the posts that have been published during the giveaway month - not on this page. For example, if you want to win the February book you would need to comment on the posts that were published during the month of February.

You can navigate through Baking and Books posts by: a) clicking on the post titles in the blue “Recently on Baking and Books” section at the bottom of the site; or b) clicking on the image thumbnails to your right, these images are from recent posts. You can also use the previous and next navigation links at the top of individual posts.

On individual posts the comments form will appear at the bottom of the page. On the main www.bakingandbooks.com homepage you need to click on the “comments” link at the bottom of the current post, beneath the dotted line. Usually there will be a number before the comments link, which indicates how many comments have been left so far.

Can I have one of the books? Pleeeeeaaase??
No, sorry. The only way to win one of the books is to participate in the giveaway by commenting on posts. Learn more about the rules in the “How the Monthly Giveaways Work” section above.
